About the Role
We invite applications from an inspiring and dedicated Teacher of Languages to join our Middle and Senior School team. We are seeking an educator who is both innovative and collaborative, with the ability to engage students in meaningful language learning and cultural exploration.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching Languages within a Years 7–12 context, and will bring creativity, expertise, and commitment to delivering programs that meet diverse student needs. Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is desirable, and an ability to teach across multiple levels of the Australian Curriculum and Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) is highly regarded.

This position is offered as a fixed-term contract for one year, commencing 1 January 2026, on a full-time basis.
Key Focus Areas

Teach Languages to students from Years 7–12, inspiring and engaging them in their language learning journey.

Actively participate in planning, evaluating, and developing programs that align with the Australian Curriculum, TCE, IBDP, and School-based guidelines.

Support the pastoral care and wellbeing of all students, demonstrating ethical and professional standards.

Contribute to co-curricular programs, supervisory duties, and School events.

Collaborate positively with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.

Uphold School policies, expectations, and the Quaker ethos in all teaching and interactions.

Participate in professional learning aligned with the School’s Improvement Plan and strategic goals.

Ensure compliance with child safeguarding and mandatory reporting requirements.

Essential Qualifications

Fully qualified teacher, registered or eligible for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania.

Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment category) and a recent National Police Check.
