About the Role
Friends’ Early Learning Centre is seeking a caring, creative, and suitably qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our dynamic and innovative Early Learning team. We provide early learning programs for children from 12 weeks through to a Kindergarten program for three-to-four-year-olds.
This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to an Early Learning Centre that has proudly achieved an overall rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard (NQS). You will be part of a passionate team committed to creating a welcoming, safe, engaging, and positive learning environment for the children and families who attend Friends’ Early Learning and Outside School Hours Care.
Key Focus Areas
- Build genuine, caring, and professional relationships with children and their families
- Provide a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally responsive educational program in line with the National Quality Framework
- Actively support and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children, including maintaining a safe and hygienic learning environment
- Document children’s learning and development, engaging in collaborative analysis to inform planning
- Work closely with the Lead Educator and team to design and deliver high-quality programs that reflect the needs and interests of individual children and groups
- Use supportive and positive behaviour guidance strategies, modelling respectful relationships
- Maintain strong communication and collaborative relationships with colleagues, families, and the community
- Engage in reflective practice and contribute to the Centre’s ongoing Quality Improvement Plan
- Actively participate in team meetings, professional learning, and Centre events

Essential Qualifications
- ACECQA-recognised Early Childhood qualification, such as:
- Certificate III in Education and Care (minimum)
- Diploma of Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) – preferred
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, or Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood
- ACECQA-approved First Aid, CPR, and Child Protection qualifications
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (employment category)
- Commitment to child safeguarding and alignment with the Purpose and Concerns of The Friends’ School
